Notary Information

The Recorder of Deeds Office administers the oath of office and records your notary bond and commission. The bond must be completed before arriving to our office. We will record the documents immediately and then issue your commission and wallet card. The charge is $42.00. We will accept cash, check or credit card. Our hours are 8 am to 5 pm.  From our office, you will proceed to the Prothonotary’s Office to register your signature. The charge is $4.60. Note: They do not accept personal checks for payment. Also, their office hours are 8 am to 4 pm.

If during your commission you have a name and/or address change, you are required to notify the Commonwealth and the Recorder of Deeds. You may use either of the forms provided by the state or our office. The fee to record the change is $20.00. Name changes require you to register your new name in the Prothonotary’s Office.
